Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, in America's eyes, into the child prodigy category. However, for a child of Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and a loving family, they had innate talents. Maureen made her entrance into the sanctity of family on August 17, 1920, in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Her mother, Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as an infant and was extremely good at them. Furthermore she was gifted for acting. She took home almost all Feis Award for Drama and Theatre Performance the country could provide. When she turned 14, she was admitted to the highly acclaimed Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
